Authorities reported that one minor injury occurred in a rollover crash on I-235 in Des Moines, with only one vehicle involved. The eastbound right lane is blocked between 42nd Street (Exit 5B) and 31st Street (Exit 6). However, as of 7:30 AM, the Iowa Department of Transportation indicated that traffic conditions were normal across central Iowa.
This weekend, the Latinx Heritage Festival will take place in downtown Des Moines, closing several streets including 13th Avenue (from Grand to Inago Street) and 12th Avenue (from Grand to Walnut Street). Free parking is available at the national parking ramp on Walnut Street. Additionally, the Bosniak S-Salem Mosque is holding its grand opening just northwest of Granger, expected to attract thousands and increase traffic in that area.
