Flight attendants found the shirt offensive, leading to Saade being told he couldn’t board without a change. Saade expressed confusion over the situation and stated that the airline provided no clear reasoning behind their decision. He ultimately complied to avoid missing his flight and has since filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation, asserting that his shirt advocated for peace, not violence. The clothing group that created the shirt emphasized that its intent was peaceful, disputing United’s claim that it posed a threat.
