Michelle Zajko has been charged with the murder of her parents, Richard and Rita Zajko, who were shot in their Pennsylvania home on December 31, 2022. Prosecutors allege she did not act alone, pointing to evidence including a neighbor’s doorbell camera, ballistics, and cell phone records. Zajko, currently incarcerated in Maryland on unrelated charges, has denied involvement, suggesting her father may have been responsible for both deaths.
District Attorney Tanner Rouse stated that while Zajko was present during the incident, investigators are still determining her potential accomplices. Charges against her include murder, robbery, and conspiracy. Zajko has also been connected to a radical group, described as cult-like, linked to various crimes across states, including the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
Despite estrangement from her parents, Zajko’s family continues to seek justice. Prosecutors characterize the case as a “crime beyond comprehension.”
