France also recorded high temperatures, with southwestern regions hitting 97°F, attributed to a “heat dome” effect. Experts highlight that climate change is making such extreme weather events more frequent and severe. The heat has impacted daily life, disrupting transport and prompting warnings about health risks, especially for vulnerable populations.
In addition to the UK and France, Spain has also reported unusually high temperatures, with Seville reaching 100°F, while Rome is expected to hit 89°F. Authorities across the affected regions are urging caution, particularly at beaches where dangerous rip currents have been reported.
