A community pool in West Louisville, closed for years, will reopen soon, just in time for summer. Mayor Craig Greenberg, joined by local leaders and Camp Taylor Elementary students, unveiled the new Camp Taylor Water Park, a $6.2 million project featuring slides, lap lanes, playgrounds, and a full-size basketball court.
Community members expressed their excitement and nostalgia; Abeni Lally, who swam at the pool as a child, noted its personal significance. The park aims to provide a safe, welcoming experience for families. Enhanced safety measures include off-duty police presence and clear bag policies. The water park opens at noon on May 23, operating daily from noon to 5 p.m. except Thursdays for maintenance, with admission set at $3 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
