Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta revealed that he had aimed to trade back with a team—likely the Lions—to gain additional fourth-round picks but ultimately saw the deal fall through at the last minute.
This suggests a possible connection between the teams, indicating that the failed trade may have benefited the Lions, as they secured Miller and avoided extra draft costs. Holmes appeared to think that the Rams’ actions may have unintentionally helped optimize Detroit’s draft strategy.
