A man named Ivan Miller, 22, from Blakesburg, Iowa, has been arrested in connection with the murder of a southern Utah woman and two women she was hiking with near Capitol Reef National Park. The incident occurred late Wednesday, prompting the husbands of the victims to alert authorities when they couldn’t find their wives. Investigators tracked Miller using license plate readers and located the stolen vehicle he was driving in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. While details about the victims remain limited, they are reported to be in their 30s, 60s, and 80s. Authorities believe the killings were not premeditated, viewing them as acts of “convenience.” A motive is still under investigation, and a multi-agency effort is underway to process crime scenes in Torrey, Utah. Miller is being held on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and is scheduled for a court appearance in Colorado.
