Zelenskyy met with Czech leaders, including President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiara, to bolster military cooperation. On the battlefield, Ukrainian forces targeted electrical equipment factories in the Bryansk region of Russia, reportedly destroying key facilities that support the Russian defense industry. Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted four Ukrainian drones heading toward Moscow.
Zelenskyy expressed skepticism about a potential ceasefire declaration coinciding with Russia’s May 9 “Victory Day,” criticizing previous Russian promises as unreliable. He urged allies to exert pressure on Moscow. Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented that there is no need for nuclear weapons in Ukraine and indicated hopes for a resolution to the conflict.
