Starting Monday, March 17th, traffic disruptions will occur on Glenwood Bridge in Pittsburgh due to ongoing construction as part of a $4.9 million preservation project. The bridge, which typically accommodates about 17,500 vehicles daily, will be reduced from four lanes to two for the next segment of the project lasting until November. Last year’s work focused on repairing structural elements, while this year’s phase will replace all 11 expansion dams, essential for allowing the bridge to adjust to temperature changes. The extensive nature of these repairs is expected to cause delays along Second Avenue and nearby routes.
