The Vatican noted that the Pope had previously shown signs of improvement, but complications from pneumonia have necessitated his continued stay at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he was admitted after experiencing breathing difficulties. Initially treated for bronchitis, he was later diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. Despite earlier reports of a “critical” state, recent updates have suggested progress, with the Pope asking for prayers from the Catholic community.
