Google has announced the upcoming Pixel 9a, an affordable phone featuring the Tensor G4 chipset, set to launch in April with a starting price of $500 for the 8/128GB model. An 8/256GB variant is in the works, but pricing is yet to be confirmed. The Pixel 9a’s price aligns with the Pixel 8A at launch, which also started at $500.
In comparison, the premium Pixel 9, priced at $680, offers enhanced specifications, including a larger sensor 50MP camera and improved display characteristics, while having a slightly smaller battery. The more advanced Pixel 9 Pro, starting at $750, features even better camera specifications and performance enhancements.
Other competitors in the mid-range market include the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, which boasts better performance and a larger display, and the OnePlus 12R with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Motorola Razr 2024, which is foldable, is available at a similar price point to the Pixel 9a.
