JetBlue is reviving its nonstop service between San Diego and Fort Lauderdale, which was discontinued last year, with the new route set to launch in January 2025. This reinstatement features a luxury upgrade, introducing a Mint Premium Cabin, which includes lie-flat seats and enhanced dining options—making JetBlue the only airline to offer a business class product on this route.
Daily departures from San Diego are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tickets are available through JetBlue’s website and app, with bonus points for TrueBlue members who book by Sunday. Additionally, JetBlue is expanding its Mint service on the West Coast, doubling its South Florida offerings and increasing premium services from Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Competitors like Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines are also ramping up their service to Fort Lauderdale. Despite facing financial challenges, including a reported net loss of $319 million for Q1 2026, JetBlue is focusing on growth in Florida to capture leisure travel demand. The airline has increased its daily flights from Fort Lauderdale by over 75% this year and adjusted baggage fees to cope with rising jet fuel costs.
