The Island House Hotel, a new high-end boutique hotel in Newport, is set to open on March 13th and features two penthouse suites and 12 grand suites, all equipped with kitchens and luxurious furnishings. Located on Memorial Boulevard, the 24-room hotel aims to enhance Newport’s upscale accommodation offerings, with owner John Marshall emphasizing its design reflects the city’s evolving hospitality scene.
The hotel, built in 2023 and completed in November, is managed by Main Street Hospitality, which is known for handling other regional properties. Daniel Brown, Vice President at Main Street Hospitality, plans to create connections with local businesses, such as the Newport Wine Cellar and Pulse Gym, to enhance guest experiences. Although not yet open, there has already been considerable interest from potential wedding parties and vacationers seeking long-term stays.
Historically, the site had plans for a guest rental complex that were abandoned before Marshall Properties acquired the land in February 2023 for $1.5 million. The Island House Hotel represents a fresh vision for the space as it aims to blend luxury accommodation with community collaboration.
