The body of 18-year-old Giovanni Perletier, who went missing during a family vacation in Florida, has been found near Bradenton, close to where his backpack was located. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported the discovery on Friday. Giovanni recently graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School and was remembered by his mother, Bridget Perletier, as she navigates this painful loss alongside his four younger siblings.
A private investigator hired by the family located his body. Authorities have not found immediate evidence of foul play, but an autopsy is pending, with a toxicology report expected to take six months. Retired FBI agent Frank Blastrom emphasized the importance of the timeline and the need for further investigation into the stories from Giovanni’s cousins, who have provided conflicting accounts about his behavior leading up to his disappearance. Investigators are focusing on the events surrounding his last communications requesting help.
