Parts of Interstate 376 (Parkway East) will be closed in both directions from Saturday night until Monday morning, according to PennDOT. The closure, effective from 9 PM Saturday to 5 AM Monday, spans between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and the Edgewood/Swiss Veil Interchange (Exit 77) for overhead sign removal.
Detour Information:
- Inbound Traffic: Route 8 (Ardmore Boulevard) via Wilkinsburg (Exit 78b).
- Outbound Traffic: Exit at Forbes Avenue/Auckland (Exit 72A) and follow detour signs towards Bellfield Avenue.
Exit 74 (Lys Hill/Homestead) will remain open during this period, while westbound traffic may still use the Edgewood/Swissvale interchange, albeit with reduced lanes. PennDOT recommends avoiding Parkway East entirely and suggests alternative routes like Route 837 and Route 28.
