Flash floods in northern West Virginia resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a three-year-old child, with several more missing. The area experienced 2.5 to 4 inches of rain in about 30 minutes, overwhelming local waterways and infrastructure, particularly impacting Triadelphia and Valley Grove. Governor Patrick Morrissey confirmed the casualties and ongoing rescue efforts, which included 19 successful swift water rescues amid significant infrastructure damage to roads and bridges. Rescue teams utilized drones and search dogs to locate missing persons. A state of emergency was declared in Ohio County, with the National Guard deployed for assistance as concerns grew over further storms. Governor Morrissey urged the community to remain cautious and adhere to emergency instructions. This incident followed severe flooding in San Antonio that left 13 dead.
