The Chase Sapphire Lounge, which opened in Hong Kong in October 2022, is set to close on January 5, 2026. This lounge had unique access rules, allowing unlimited visits for Priority Pass members linked to Chase cards, while others could access U.S. properties once per year.
Chase’s decision to close this location may stem from its focus on U.S. markets and complexities in monetizing international lounges. Following its closure, the space will be rebranded as Kyra Lounge, the second of its kind at the airport. This rebranding suggests that Chase may have found limited strategic value in maintaining a non-U.S. lounge.
The transition highlights a shift in Chase’s lounge strategy, reaffirming that the global presence was somewhat unusual given the company’s primary focus on the U.S. market.
