A Central Florida woman has filed a lawsuit after allegedly being injured on the Stardust Racer roller coaster, where a man, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, later died from multiple blunt force injuries. The woman claims the ride violently shook her head against the headrest and asserts that Universal’s safety measures were inadequate. Her identity remains confidential, and her law firm, Spetas-Buist, is seeking a trial for compensation.
Before the official opening of the Universal Epic Universe, she experienced the ride during a preview event. Karen Irwin, president of Universal Orlando Resort, stated that the ride was functioning properly at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, the Ben Crump law firm is investigating Zavala’s death. Reports of the woman’s injuries emerged in state records on July 15, highlighting challenges faced by others, including a 63-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman with preexisting conditions. Universal has not commented on the ongoing lawsuit.
