A tragic accident occurred in Lisbon, Portugal, when a popular electric tram, known as the Elevador da Gloria, derailed, resulting in 15 fatalities and 18 injuries, with five individuals in serious condition. Emergency services responded swiftly, but the incident marked the worst transport disaster in the city’s recent history, prompting immediate inspections of other tram services.
