Authorities believe they have located Travis Decker, wanted since June 2 after the deaths of his three daughters—9-year-old Paityn, 8-year-old Evelyn, and 5-year-old Olivia—found at a campsite in Leavenworth. Hikers reported seeing a solitary figure near a remote lake, prompting an extensive search that included helicopter and K-9 teams.
Decker, a former U.S. Army infantryman with skills in navigation and survival, was unable to return his daughters to their mother after a scheduled visit. His ex-wife had previously raised concerns about his deteriorating mental health and unstable living conditions. State and federal agencies have been searching hundreds of square miles for him, offering a reward for information leading to his capture.
An autopsy revealed the girls died from asphyxiation, with evidence of being bound with zip ties and plastic bags. As the search continued, warnings were issued to local residents to secure their homes and vehicles.
