A Texas mother, Ashley Pardo, was arrested for buying ammunition and tactical gear for her son, who was allegedly planning a school shooting. Authorities stated that Pardo was aware of her son’s violent intentions. Her younger son was also involved, as he allegedly facilitated his brother’s plans for a babysitting service.
The situation escalated when the boy was spotted at Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School wearing a mask and tactical clothing before leaving the premises. His grandmother reported him to the police after discovering him playing with live ammunition and a homemade explosive resembling past terrorist attacks.
Pardo had allegedly taken her son to a military surplus store to purchase equipment, including a tactical vest. The boy had reportedly expressed a desire to become “famous” before attending school that day.
He was later detained off-campus and charged with terrorism. Previous investigations revealed a troubling history, including a map of the school labeled as a “suicide route” and a history of researching mass shootings online. Pardo faces a charge of aiding in the commission of terrorism and was released on a $75,000 bail, with her next court date set for July 17. This case reflects a growing trend in the U.S. to hold parents accountable for their children’s violent actions.
