Borges claimed that sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, was improperly stored on a server lacking adequate security measures.
His allegations specifically criticized Aram Moghaddassi for creating unauthorized copies of Social Security data in a cloud environment. Borges expressed that the risk posed by this could lead to widespread identity theft and significant repercussions for affected individuals. While SSA spokesman Nick Perrine did not comment on specific HR issues, he asserted that whistleblower complaints are taken seriously. Borges’ complaints revealed low morale within the agency, with employees feeling disrespected and overburdened.
