In Crown Heights, Brooklyn, a shooting at the Taste of a City Lounge resulted in three fatalities and nine injuries early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM, prompting numerous 911 calls. Three men, aged 19, 27, and 35, were killed, while the rest of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported an argument between groups inside the lounge before the shooting began, which police suspect involved up to four shooters. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish stated that 42 shell casings were recovered from the scene. Mayor Eric Adams emphasized the ongoing concern about gang-related violence, noting that a significant portion of NYC shootings involve gangs.
The lounge expressed a commitment to the safety of its patrons, but community members are concerned given a previous shooting incident at the location. Police have not made any arrests yet, and the investigation is ongoing.
