Nintendo’s recent release of the Switch 2 includes an enhanced version called “Switch 2 Editions,” which features both paid upgrades and numerous free patches improving gameplay for several popular titles like “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet,” “Super Mario Odyssey,” and “Splatoon 3.” Notable upgrades include significantly improved performance and graphics, particularly for “The Legend of Zelda” titles, which now run at a stable 60fps and higher resolutions in both docked and handheld modes.
“Super Mario Odyssey” sees a resolution boost from 900p to 1800p, making it suitable for 4K displays, while frame rate drops in “New Donk City” have been eliminated. “Super Mario 3D World” and “Bowser’s Fury” also benefit from similar enhancements, both reaching a dynamic resolution of 1800p and maintaining 60fps performance.
“Splatoon 3” now runs at 60fps, up from 30fps, with resolution improvements alongside its upcoming “Splatoon Raiders” release. Other titles like “Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker” and “New Super Mario Bros. U” have seen boosts in resolution as well, although some experiences, like HDR upgrades, may not have met expectations.
