Three individuals were arrested on murder charges, and four others on attempted murder charges, following a shooting in Leland, Mississippi, that resulted in six deaths and many injuries over the weekend. The incident happened during Homecoming celebrations post a high school football game. In a separate incident in Heidelberg, two bodies, including a pregnant woman, were found on a high school campus on the same night as the local football game. An 18-year-old has been charged in connection with that shooting. Additionally, three individuals were shot on the Alcorn State University campus, and one later died. Several other shootings were reported at various events across Mississippi during the weekend, raising concerns over the violence.
