The community is honoring three officers from the Northern York County Regional Police Department—Detective Sergeant Kody Becker, Detective Mark Baker, and Detective Isaiah Heiser—who were killed in the line of duty. Memorials and processions have emerged as a means of commemorating their sacrifices.
People gathered along Route 30 in Lancaster County to pay their respects as first responders drove by with lights and sirens. Many shared personal stories and memories of the officers, highlighting their kindness and dedication. For instance, Alyssa Nelson noted the selflessness of Detective Baker, whose son played football with her own son.
Becker, a 2008 Millersville University graduate and former wrestling team member, was remembered as a hero whose life was tragically cut short. The university expressed its sorrow, sending condolences to his family and friends. The community’s support continues to grow, reflecting a strong bond within the first responder community and a collective mourning for the fallen officers.
