On September 18th, the Tobrea Cararo Association celebrated the completion of the Cararo Cottage and the caretaker’s home, part of Tobrea Castle’s heritage. Tamera Zivic, president of the Tovrea Cararo Society, noted that these outbuildings, lost to monsoons and microbursts in 2015, represent the pioneering spirit of Arizona. The castle, completed in 2010, has become a popular tour destination, with tickets available through a lottery system due to high demand.
Zivic emphasized the historical significance of the buildings, which reflect the lives of early residents who contributed to the region’s development. Tours, lasting about 90 minutes and highlighting Arizona’s history, usually run from January to May, with the next lottery for Spring 2026 tickets open from October 1-15, 2025. Tickets cost $22, with kids under 2 admitted free.
