Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident as “horrendous,” emphasizing the need for unity against anti-Semitism. The attack occurred in Golders Green, an area with a significant Jewish population, where the ambulances from Hatzolah North West were targeted.
Residents reported loud explosions, with one man recalling seeing the flames. Security footage captured three hooded individuals approaching the vehicles before the fire. Authorities are focused on authenticating the claim from an Islamist group, Harakat Ahab al-Yamin al-Islamiyah, which has previously linked itself to anti-Jewish activities in Europe.
The incident has heightened fears within the Jewish community, already feeling vulnerable amid rising anti-Semitic incidents in the UK, which surged following the recent escalation in Gaza. Local leaders and the Archbishop of Canterbury denounced the violence, with calls for support against escalating hatred and intimidation.
