DR Horton, the largest home builder in the U.S., is collaborating with Prophetic, an AI startup, to tackle the country’s housing shortage, which has reached about 4 million units since the Great Recession. Rising construction costs and the complexities of acquiring suitable land have hindered builders. Prophetic’s AI platform streamlines land acquisition by analyzing zoning regulations across 25 states, with plans to expand to all 50 by June. This software condenses extensive zoning documents, allowing developers to assess the development potential of land much faster. This technological advantage could help builders make quicker decisions, potentially dominating the market before others can act. Jason Jones from DR Horton emphasized the platform’s role in enhancing homeownership opportunities.
