On Saturday night at a New Hampshire country club, guests gathered on the dance floor when a balloon-like sound was actually a gunshot. This triggered panic, resulting in the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Robert Stephen Juterre and injuries to two others. Police arrested 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, who has a history of involvement in a double murder, in connection with the attack. Investigators initially thought there were two shooters but later determined only one person fired the shots. Eyewitnesses described the shooter as not being dressed for the occasion, which raised suspicion among guests.
One attendee bravely confronted the shooter, potentially saving lives in the process. Thankfully, some victims have since been released from the hospital. New Hampshire’s Attorney General and local officials confirmed that there is no ongoing threat. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan expressed their condolences and condemned the violence, emphasizing that such acts have no place in their state. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is collaborating with various agencies.
