The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) released footage alleging that terrorists in the Gaza Strip were impersonating World Central Kitchen (WCK) humanitarian workers. The IDF stated that five armed militants were found next to a vehicle marked with the WCK logo, claiming the terrorists used it to avoid detection. In response, the IDF conducted drone strikes targeting these operatives.
On the humanitarian front, airlifts of aid from Western nations, including around 97 tons of food, occurred alongside the entry of 300 trucks into Gaza. However, the IDF also reported that airstrikes resulted in numerous casualties, with reports of 89 Palestinians killed in one day.
Palestinian officials claimed deaths from malnutrition were rising, with the Gaza Health Ministry reporting that five individuals died of starvation in a single day. Israel denied these claims, asserting that many deceased had pre-existing medical conditions.
As humanitarian efforts continued, Spain evacuated 44 sick or injured children from Gaza, emphasizing international cooperation amidst the ongoing conflict, which escalated significantly after the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. The violence has led to substantial casualties on both sides, with the IDF claiming the death of around 20,000 militants, while Palestinian sources cite over 60,000 dead.
