The Nothing Phone 3 was introduced by founder Carl Pei as a serious contender in the flagship smartphone market, priced at $799. It aims to compete directly with high-end models like the iPhone 16 and Galaxy S25, emphasizing flagship features such as a Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 chip, a bright 6.67-inch OLED display, and five years of Android updates.
The Phone 3 is equipped with a 5,150mAh silicon carbon battery, supported by rapid charging capabilities of 65W wired and 15W wireless. Its camera system includes four 50-megapixel lenses, although its performance remains to be tested.
A notable change in design is the new Glyph matrix—a circular LED display at the back of the phone—which allows for customizable notifications and interactive games. Pei envisions community-driven features utilizing this design. The Essential Key is also returning, offering AI capabilities for organizing tasks and summarizing audio.
While the Phone 3 incorporates advanced technology, its conservative design contrasts with more experimental competitor offerings, sparking debate about its standout qualities in a crowded market.
