Southwest Airlines announced a new non-stop flight service between Nashville Airport (BNA) and El Paso, Texas (ELP) starting on November 30, 2025. This flight, which is strategically scheduled after the Thanksgiving holiday when travel demand is high, includes departures from Nashville at 8:55 AM (arriving at 11:05 AM) and a return flight from El Paso at 12:15 PM (arriving in Nashville at 4:00 PM). The airline will utilize Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft for these routes.
In an effort to adapt to rising travel demand, Southwest is extending its flight schedule through early January 2026 and has plans to introduce additional domestic routes in the coming months. The airline is expanding its service offerings to popular destinations and will also implement redeye flights from Hawaii to the mainland.
However, Southwest is facing criticism for its decision to change its baggage fee policy. The airline plans to limit free checked baggage to specific customer groups, which has raised concerns about undermining its longstanding reputation for affordability and customer service. Industry analysts warn that these changes could harm customer loyalty and brand identity as Southwest aims to improve profitability and adapt to increasing competition in the airline sector.
