Following the gunfire, Brandl was quickly restrained by the parents of a participating student, including veterans from the military and law enforcement. They acted decisively, subduing him within about 60 seconds to prevent further harm. Local police commended their bravery, stating that their intervention was critical in stopping the suspect.
