Three Tennessee teenagers are suing Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, claiming its technology was used to create non-consensual nude images and videos of them. The lawsuit alleges that xAI’s models were licensed to apps that generated explicit content without labeling it as AI-produced, leading to realistic and disturbing material being made. The plaintiffs assert that their photos were misused by someone in their social circle, and they seek damages for emotional distress. This is the first lawsuit involving minors depicted in such AI-generated content against xAI. Unlike other companies, xAI has not implemented watermarking to identify AI-generated images, raising concerns over responsibility in the industry. xAI has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
