Breeze Airways is set to launch new routes in July from Tallahassee, Florida, and Birmingham, Alabama. The Utah-based airline will begin operations at Tallahassee International Airport on July 2 and at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport on July 3. From each airport, Breeze will offer nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), as part of a larger expansion of 17 new routes across various locations.
CEO David Neeleman emphasized the airline’s mission to serve underserved markets with affordable, nonstop flights, filling gaps left by other airlines. The new routes will also introduce competition with struggling airlines and fill recent market vacancies in both Florida and beyond. Despite a growing presence at FLL, Breeze still holds a small market share in comparison to larger competitors like JetBlue and Southwest Airlines, who are expanding their operations at the airport.
