Two cooling centers will be open on Saturday, August 23rd, from noon to 9 PM, offering food, water, and a safe space for pets. Libraries in the area will extend hours until 8 PM to provide relief.
Public health officials warn of deteriorating air quality and advise residents to stay indoors, especially those in vulnerable populations. Mandatory wood-burning restrictions are in place to combat air pollution, with an Air Quality Advisory issued due to high ozone levels expected to persist until August 25th.
