The Frisco City Council has approved a new mural for the Universal Kids Resort Hotel, featuring characters from popular franchises such as “Shrek,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and “Trolls.” The mural will be prominently displayed on the resort’s facade, with specific areas themed after “Shrek’s Swamp,” “Minions vs. Minions,” “Bikini Bottom,” and “Trollsfest.”
The hotel entrance will now face the Cob Hill community, which has previously raised concerns about traffic and quality of life due to the theme park’s development. The mural includes details like colorful blocks and various window shapes to enhance its visual appeal.
The theme park, inspired by properties from Illumination, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, and Jurassic World, is scheduled to open between April and June 2026. Universal aims to create immersive experiences, including playgrounds and character meet-and-greets. The local government officially approved the park earlier this year in March. Updates on the park’s development are available through Universal Parks News on social media.
