Several new construction permits have been filed at Walt Disney World, specifically behind Magic Kingdom Park, at the address “1700 Floridian Way”. This area is not part of the park but is located near Fantasyland and Frontierland. Six permits were filed on the same day, each listing different contractors, including Siemens Industry and Bumgarner Electric, among others.
The permits indicate the installation of trailers and fire systems, suggesting the preparation of a backstage work area. Historically, Disney sets up temporary structures for cast members during project phases; similar structures were seen after the closure of Chester & Hester’s Dinorama.
Speculation suggests that this trailer area may relate to potential expansions, such as a new “cars” land or a land inspired by a villain. This area will function as a backstage base rather than a part of the park itself.
Previously, Disney filed another set of six permits for a project closer to Frontierland, which is more likely to be directly associated with the “cars” expansion. Additional updates about Frontierland’s expansion have been shared, including character concepts and theme integration, with construction expected to start later this year.
