Lenovo has unveiled the Legion Go 2, an upgraded version of its handheld gaming PC, which is larger and heavier, with a starting price of $1,099, significantly up from the original’s $699. Key enhancements include a removable wireless controller, a built-in kickstand, and a unique mouse mode for FPS gaming.
The device boasts an 8.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a variable refresh rate of 30-144Hz. While it uses AMD’s Z2 or Z2 Extreme chips, the upgrades are minimal compared to the previous generation. Notably, the controller has been redesigned for improved ergonomics and durability, incorporating features that prevent joystick drift.
The Legion Go 2 is available with configurations up to 2TB of storage and 32GB of RAM. Despite the enhancements, the rising prices for handhelds are a concern. Lenovo has not yet announced a SteamOS version or compatibility with Xbox’s full-screen experience, expected in future devices. Overall, the Legion Go 2 aims to provide a premium Windows handheld experience amid increasing competition in the market.
