Carnival Cruise Line has canceled 11 sailings of the Carnival Florence scheduled for fall 2026, affecting trips from October 12 to November 16. The cancellations are due to itinerary changes as the ship will be relocated from Long Beach to Miami in early 2027 before permanently moving to New York City in summer 2027. The Florence will then offer sailings to destinations like the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Canada.
Affected guests and their travel advisors have been notified and will have the option to rebook or receive a full refund. To encourage rebooking, Carnival is offering $50 onboard credits per person for those who plan to fly by March 25, 2026. Passengers not wishing to change their plans will automatically be refunded after the deadline.
The Florence, which features Italian-themed decor and dining, debuted in April 2024 and can accommodate over 4,100 passengers. This cancellation aligns with broader safety concerns affecting cruise operations, particularly related to ongoing geopolitical tensions. Other Carnival sailings, including those on the Carnival Panorama, have also been rescheduled, though their destinations remain mostly unchanged.
Safety warnings from the U.S. government and recent violence in Mexico have raised concerns among cruise passengers, impacting bookings during this traditionally busy period in the cruise industry.
