Marc Raimondi’s first year with the Atlanta Falcons was in 2024, though he joined ESPN in 2019, previously covering martial arts and wrestling. He authored the book “Say Hello to the Bad: How Pro Wrestling’s New World Order Changed America,” published in 2025. Michael Rothstein, also an ESPN writer based in Atlanta, is part of the investigative team.
On March 12, 2026, it was reported that Miami-Dade state attorney filed four charges against Falcons edge rusher James Pierce Jr. related to a February 7 incident with WNBA player Rikea Jackson. Pierce, 22, faces three felonies: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, fleeing police, and resisting an officer with violence. A charge of aggravated stalking was lowered to a misdemeanor, and another aggravated assault charge was dismissed.
Pierce allegedly followed Jackson’s ex-girlfriend’s car, crashed into it, and fled the scene, later resisting arrest and being apprehended. He spent a night in jail and was released on a $20,500 bail. Jackson applied for a restraining order against Pierce on February 9, citing threats to her life. The court granted her request, and Pierce is prohibited from contacting her. The NFL is monitoring the situation, and the Falcons have declined to comment. There have been at least seven previous 911 calls involving Pierce and his ex-girlfriend leading up to his arrest.
