The article discusses a recent Consumer Reports (CR) survey focused on tire brand satisfaction, revealing significant discrepancies in consumer ratings. It highlights that Sumitomo performed poorly, finishing last in two categories (all-terrain and summer tires) and second-to-last in all-season and winter/snow categories. Issues with Sumitomo tires included poor handling, grip on wet roads, and quick wear, resulting in low owner satisfaction ratings for their models.
Additionally, Dunlop and GT Radial also received low scores across all categories. Uniroyal, Ironman, Mastercraft, and Seirn ranked near the bottom in the all-season and all-terrain classes. BFGoodrich and Arizonian had similarly disappointing results.
Conversely, the survey identified Michelin and Vredestein as top performers in the all-season category, with Michelin leading in all-terrain tires. For winter tires, Bridgestone, Michelin, and Nokian emerged as the most satisfying brands, while Nokian and Vredestein topped the summer tire category as well.
