Photos of the snowfall circulated on social media, showcasing snow on beaches and palm trees, although it didn’t accumulate on roads. Other Southern regions, including southeastern Alabama and southern Georgia, also reported snow.
Meanwhile, winter weather was anticipated in New England, with three to five inches of snow expected during the afternoon for states like Connecticut and Massachusetts, coinciding with the New England Patriots’ game. Chicago and the Midwest braced for winter conditions, with minimal snow accumulations but dangerously cold wind chills. A blizzard warning was issued for parts of Minnesota and North Dakota, forecasting hazardous travel conditions.
