Sesame Place San Diego has announced it will shift to a seasonal schedule, closing during fall and winter after this Sunday. The park plans to operate from May to September for the 2026 season, focusing on peak visitor times. Many visitors and employees were surprised by the announcement, which was made via social media rather than direct communication. Pass holder Adriana Brewster expressed disappointment, noting that seasonal celebrations like Halloween and Christmas will not occur.
Sesame Place has offered 2025 pass holders a free SeaWorld Fun card, providing access to SeaWorld for the rest of the year, including holiday events. However, there is confusion regarding benefits for platinum pass holders. Employees also voiced frustration over learning about schedule changes through social media. Sesame Place stated that employees will be reassigned to SeaWorld during the offseason and confirmed that tailored accommodations will be provided for platinum pass holders based on their sign-up date.
