Lindsey Vonn’s father, Alan Kildow, announced that if he has any influence, she will not return to professional skiing following her recent injury at Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Olympic champion is currently hospitalized in Treviso after suffering a compound fracture of her tibia during a downhill race. Kildow expressed his support for her recovery and emphasized her mental strength in coping with the situation.
The family, including Kildow and Vonn’s siblings, were present during her crash, describing the incident as shocking and traumatic. They clarified that her injury was not related to a previously torn anterior cruciate ligament in her knee, as she had demonstrated her capability to race at a high level.
Despite a successful return to skiing after nearly six years of retirement, Vonn, who has an impressive record of 84 World Cup wins, will not attend the upcoming Olympics. Kildow confirmed she plans to return home soon, rather than participating in the event in any capacity.
