Lagoon amusement park has announced plans for a new high-flying swing ride called the Nutcracker, set to open in 2026. Designed by S&S Worldwide, this ride will stand over 100 feet tall and launch riders at speeds up to 100 mph, swinging them about 150 feet above the ground. The Nutcracker will carry 1,200 passengers per hour and feature gravitational acceleration that exceeds that of an astronaut launch.
Park officials are excited about the ride, noting that its iconic 50-foot Nutcracker figure will greet guests. Frequent visitors, including pass holders, have expressed enthusiasm for the new attraction and its partnership with S&S, which has previously collaborated with Lagoon. As the park celebrates its 139th anniversary, the Nutcracker represents a commitment to offering innovative and extreme attractions, marking the first new ride in three years following the 2023 introduction of the Primordial roller coaster.
