According to Tim Culpan, a technology columnist, Apple plans to launch a new MacBook Neo next year featuring the A19 Pro chip from the iPhone 17 Pro, alongside 12GB of RAM, up from the current model’s 8GB. While the A19 Pro chip has a six-core GPU, a “binned” version with a five-core GPU will be used in the MacBook Neo, consistent with the current model.
Culpan, citing an Asian supply chain source, confirms the announcement, and noted that Apple is considering ramping up production due to higher-than-expected sales. The MacBook Neo is currently being assembled in China and Vietnam.
In related news, Apple is reportedly exploring new wearable AI devices and may introduce an OLED touchscreen MacBook that could be branded as a “MacBook Ultra.” Additionally, the new MacBook Neo has a starting price of $599 and offers lower AppleCare+ repair prices compared to other Macs. Users can also enjoy new colorful wallpapers from the MacBook Neo on all Macs in the latest macOS beta.
