The African Youth Research Challenge is a continent-wide competition designed to empower young African researchers in shaping climate change policy and action across Africa. Led by the UNESCO Youth Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN) in collaboration with the African Youth Climate Hub (AYCH) and supported by the King Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, this initiative aims to transform climate research into actionable policy recommendations.
The challenge focuses on:
– Impacts of climate change in Africa
– Innovative, evidence-based climate solutions
– Policy-oriented research for sustainable development
It targets young researchers, university students, and early professionals aged 18-35. Ten selected research papers will be turned into concise policy briefs. Participants will work directly with policymakers, contributing to science-based climate decision-making.
