Nottingham Forest is in discussions with Vitor Pereira to become their fourth head coach this season, following the recent sacking of Sean Dyche after a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Dyche’s departure marks the third managerial change for Forest this season, with previous coaches Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou also dismissed. Currently, Forest sits at 17th in the league, just three points above the relegation zone, having won only three of their last 13 matches.
Pereira, who was sacked by Wolves in November after a poor start this season, is considered the frontrunner for the job due to his past successes, including a significant improvement in Wolves’ performance after he took over in December 2024. Additionally, he has a prior connection with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis from his time at Olympiakos, where he achieved a league and cup double in the 2014-15 season.
Forest is in no rush to finalize a new appointment, as their next match isn’t until February 19th. Dyche’s tenure lasted less than four months, and he was brought in to replace Postecoglou, who managed only eight games without a win. The club’s chaotic managerial situation reflects deeper issues at Forest, and they need to stabilize to avoid relegation. Marinakis faces the challenge of appointing a fourth manager amid growing fan discontent and the team’s precarious league position.
